SOLAR CARPORT/CANOPIES

It is estimated that we only need 10,000 square miles of solar panels to produce enough electricity to power the entire US.  That's only 6.4 million acres which is only 9% of the whole state of Nevada, which has 48 million acres owned by the public!

It is calculated that there are approximately 1.4 billion parking spaces in the US with an average size of 8.5' x 18' or 153 square feet/space or an estimated total parking area of 4.91 million acres of parking spaces.  Granted, not all are open to the sky, but most are exposed to the sun.  Many buildings have older roofs and, structurally, may not support a roof-mounted solar solution.  Let's develop the parking areas which can be designed similar to the one shown here that can harvest the rainwater minimizing polluted run-off, which is often caused by impermeable parking lot surfaces.  These solutions also protect our vehicles from the elements as they sit idle 80% of their life.

As we accept and contribute to the electric vehicle revolution, we can use this solar-produced electricity to directly charge our vehicles, further reducing the burning

of fossil fuels creating a

net-zero transportation solution.

Wow, sounds good, right?

BIFACIAL
SOLAR PANEL SOLUTION

The carport designed with bifacial solar panels allows some light to pass through the panels while producing up to 25% more electricity than traditional solar panels.

This bus port protects the operators and maintenance staff while possibly providing a power source for electric buses.
